I don't know what it is about getting old. It's like all of a sudden life just isn't interesting any more. Take a moment to listen to middle aged people or someone who has retired from their youth early by having kids and you find that their conversations are lame and boring for the most part.
You'll listen to these people and they talk about how exciting it is that a new Mexican restaurant is opening or how so-and-so looked amazing on television.
Give me a fucking break there is nothing less interesting than a new Mexican restaurant their about as common as a Chinese restaurant and although good they all basically serve the same food.
There is NO FUCKING NEED FOR MORE MEXICAN RESTAURANTS!!! You know there are too many when you have stupid white gringos opening them up and billing them as authentic because they have a few immigrants working the counter.
Also who gives a fuck about people on television. Is your life so fucking boring that you have to emotionally invest yourself in someone else's life?. The worst are those fucking award show events where people obsesses over what other people are wearing.
It seems like everyone has an opinion about some celebrity's suit or dress even the people who are ugly with no style and are completely un-fuckable.
I want to avoid this as much as possible. My strategy is to be as lame and uninteresting as I can while I'm still young– I don't want to burn out too soon. Then when I get older and have some money I start drinking hard, fucking strange women in back alleys and taking psychedelic drugs.
It's what I like to call reverse lameness. I read this book called 'Mastery' by Robert Greene and it talks about find a master to apprentice under so you can be the master. You don't have to ever actually meet this person but it is someone you choose to learn from.
Right now I have decided to apprentice under Charlie Sheen. People talk shit about the guy but he is old and generally seems to be living a pretty interesting life. I can't find any flaws with that.
